The youth club "Perspective" unites the efforts of more than 20 young people aged 14 to 17, who are eager to acquire and progress the skills to regulate own behavior to establish the most effective relationships with other people. Taking part in the work of the club contributes for teenagers to gain the skills of finding solutions to complicated problems, as well as to enjoy the advantages of healthy life course, that means to get emotionally stimulated without violence, drugs and alcohol. The adolescents are taught to accept the position of people of their age and defend their thesis according to the topic discussed.

The adolescents analyze the skills of constructive communication and non-conflict interaction with people of their age and adults; they investigate burning issues by reasoning and argument. The teenagers receive practical skills to have the advantage of their rights, which are specified in the declaration "Child's Rights", the law that is valid in the Republic of Belatus.

The youth leadership club "Perspective" is the result of the joint efforts made by non-governmental association "Focus Group" and the Center of Juvenile Works "Eureca".

Club meetings are held every Thursday at the Center of Juvenile Works "Eureca" ((Chigladze, 29-119)).

The mission of the club is to develop individuality and creativity of young people so that they achieve success and stability.

The main method of the club work is to arrange educational meetings to cover the topics young people are interested in. The topics are chosen to meet intellectual needs of the teenagers, who are the members of the club.

Within the framework of the club "Perspectiva" there have been held educational meetings to discuss the following issues:

  • Love affairs;
  • Drugs;
  • HIV/AIDS;
  • Constructive communication;
  • Basics of journalism;
  • Self-cognition;
  • Ways of conduct in conflict situation;
  • Alcohol abuse and smoking;
  • Child's rights;
  • Homosexuality
  • Suicide;
  • Family problems and methods of resolution;
  • Friendship between male and female;
  • Nazism; etc.

Educational meetings are arranged following the standard of three-hour seminar. The following Active methods of teaching are applied: mini-group work, games, debates, interactive exercises, elements of training. We invite experts in the field the topic is related to, as well as students specializing in the sphere of pedagogy.

Furthermore, informal communication encounters are organized to provide the children with the opportunity to share the news, discuss general issues and plans, and meet on high days and holidays.

Sometimes the members of the club "Perspective" participate in various actions of educational and entertaining character , such as study-of-local-lore excursions and going to the countryside. Being participants or volunteers, young people can upgrade the level of their knowledge through taking part in seminars, summer camps and actions, which are jointly held by Focus-Group and "Eureca". Moreover, the members of the club enjoy the possibility to refer to the resources Focus-Group offers, for instance, thematic library and video-catalogue .

The club work is based on the teaching principle that all the members are equal in imparting the knowledge, since teenagers are more willing to follow the advice given by people of their age, who are competent to convey the information that is significant for young people to become mature. While expressing their own opinions on some topics, teenagers are certain to enrich intellectual world of each other. After acquiring knowledge as to various topics and basic skills of interpersonal communication, adolescents can share the newly gained knowledge with their class-mates, friends, and other people of their age.
